“The appointment of Norma Drummond to Commissioner of the Department of Planning is well deserved," Latimer said. "Norma brings a wealth of experience administering community development and affordable housing programs for Westchester County, she provides direct assistance to our local municipalities, developers and non-profit agencies, and helps to address the needs of low and moderate income housing in our neighborhoods. I know her knowledge and leadership will serve us well.”
Drummond first joined Westchester County in 1986 as a Staff Assistant to the Westchester County Office of Economic Development. She then moved to the Department of Planning where she held several positions including Program Director for Section 8 Housing, and Director of Program Development for Housing and Planning. Drummond also served as the past President of the Board of Directors of the National Association for County Community and Economic Development (NACCED) in Washington, D.C. She has spent more than 20 years serving on local Planning and Zoning boards, and has received numerous awards and recognitions for her distinguished public service.
