What's in a Name? Briarcliff Gets a Dose of 'Horror'
New season of FX's "American Horror Story" is set in an asylum called Briarcliff Manor.
While the neighboring village of Sleepy Hollow is often associated with tales like The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and its Headless Horseman, now Briarcliff Manor is getting its own creepy connection.
The FX show American Horror Story's second season takes place inside the walls of an asylum called "Briarcliff Manor."
"Set in 1964, American Horror Story: Asylum takes us into a Church-run haven for the criminally insane, ruled with an iron fist by Sister Jude (Jessica Lange), a nun with a troubled past," according to the FX website. "Inside this locked down facility, danger lurks around every corner. From Nazis and serial killers, to mutants and aliens, no one is safe inside these walls."
