Winners Announced in Pleasantville Middle School Writing Contest
Four poems, a comic origin story, and a science fiction story received awards in the 5th Annual 8th Grade Writing Contest.
The four winning authors are Jillian Frank (poem, "Morning"), Benjamin Hahn (comic origin story, "The Pineapple and the Gazelle"), Elliot Powell (poem, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness"), and Victoria Stargiotti (poem, "She Remembers").
Elizabeth Hayes (science fiction, "Mission_Fragmentor") and Lauren Peacock (poem, "Change") were named runners-up.
Entries, sans names, were judged by author/contest co-sponsor Joe Wallace and four of last year's 11th Grade Writing Contest winners - Mary Kate Crowe, Liz Faulkner, Violet Fearon, and Sabrina Ipyam. For the second year, The Village Bookstore co-sponsored the contest.
