Lead Sponsor Northwell Health Tip:
According to Julie B. Kramer, RD, Registered Dietitian at Northwell Health, "A healthy diet reduces inflammation. Most illnesses are caused by an immune response to inflammation. Eating a healthy, whole-food diet with a focus on fresh produce is an effective preventative measure against many long-term illnesses—think diabetes and heart disease—as well as short-term, acute illnesses like COVID-19. Diets rich in red meat, processed foods, and added sugars have been linked to an increase in inflammation and a weakened immune response." Click here to learn more. Brought to you by Northern Westchester and Phelps, your local Northwell hospitals.

MAKE A FOOD DONATION
WITH PFM-O THIS WEEK!

To support efforts to ease food insecurity during the winter months PFM-O has a donation option on the 3rd Saturday of each month. So this week, between Tuesday, 7pm and Thursday, 7pm when setting up your preorders you can also donate $10, $20 or $30 as well to the Pleasantville Community Garden. They'll use your donation to purchase produce and nonperishable items and then see those are delivered to families and individuals that are food insecure in our area.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS

Maple View Farm's PFM-O store has a "Farmer's Choice Bag" offering a bulk discount on 7-9 items of seasonal produce selected for you from a variety of roots, greens, and herbs.

Whitecliff Vineyards will make their January visit this week. Take advantage of their wide selection of wines to brighten up your winter with a great wine/food pairing at dinner. A light white like their Awosting will pair with your Pura Vida fish, a rich red like their Sky Island Bordeaux blend works with beef or a rich vegetable stew, and their off dry Riesling can cool down a spicy dish or complement a fruit-based sauce or salad.

Kriemhild Dairy Farms will be in with their full line of premium, Organic, grass-fed dairy products, including butter, flavored butters, creme fraiche, milk, chocolate milk, and real buttermilk with live cultures. Dairyman Bruce encourages preorders to ensure you get what you're seeking.

Warm up at the Market Saturday with a hot grilled chicken sausage by SOVA Farm (served on a soft Bien Cuit bun).
Chaseholm Farm Creamery offers quarts of their plain and maple yogurt, and recently they added two new cheeses: Red Beard, a smear ripened cheese washed with hard apple cider, and a Dutch Style Gouda (sweet, nutty and full of lactate crystals) sourced from Jake's Aged Gouda.
