Winterizing The Market!

Place preorders from our vendors Tues, 7:00pm – Thurs, 7:00pm. Then walk up Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm, to gather your preorders shop further

Involved in winterizing your home and vehicles for the upcoming season? We hope you'll join us in preparing the Pleasantville Farmers Market for the winter too.

To start, if you haven't registered yet to use Pleasantville Farmers Market Online (PFM-O) please click here to do so. If you have not used PFM-O in a while, try it again so you're reacquainted with the system. From December - March the Market runs with shorter hours to limit exposure for customers and vendors. Some produce items are only available by preorder (to protect items from the cold). Thus the use of preorders is really key to keeping the Market successful for shoppers and producers in the colder months. This week Maple View Farm is back in PFM-O, and next week Gajeski Produce will rejoin in time for Thanksgiving preorders. Below you can read in a nutshell how the Winter Market will work. On Saturday we'll have volunteers available to answer any questions.

Also this Saturday: Alpacatrax, Sharper Harper (aka Harper Keehn Knife Sharpening) and Living Edge Designs are all in. And during November The River Garden offers stunning dried floral items (weather permitting). Many vendors are making their final visits before Thanksgiving (or for the year) so carefully look over the list of Rotation Vendors below and see who you need to stock up from. The Market is at PEAK in fall harvest items so don't miss some of the most delicious shopping of the year! See you at the Market.

& Winter Warriors!

Last year we established our first annual fundraising campaign. We timed it with the winter season to encourage support for your year-round vendors, and so we could provide relevant thank you gifts to donors such as warm PFM winter hats, and the waiving of PFM-O service fees December - March. Thanks so much if you contributed in this way last winter! This year we're back with a call for support and we again have some fun, complementary thank you items. Donations can be made through PFM-O. Here's the details:

Contribute as a $50 HARVEST HERO to receive:

(collect PFM tote bags any Saturday at Manager's Tent)

  • No PFM-O service fees Dec – Mar ($45 value)
  • A pair of orange reusable PFM shopping bags

Contribute as a WINTER WARRIOR to receive:

(collect items on the upcoming Swag Bag Days of 12/11 or 12/18)

  • No PFM-O service fees Dec – Mar ($45 value)
  • A choice of one item of PFM swag (a pair of orange reusable PFM shopping bags, or a PFM baseball hat, or a PFM winter hat, or a PFM canvas tote bag)

THANKS in advance if you're able to support us in this way - your collaboration helps make a year-round Pleasantville Farmers Market possible. Please note that because the Market is a 501 (c)(4) nonprofit organization, individual contributions are not tax deductible.

Who's In?

View our Map of the Market to see where all vendors visiting this Saturday will be located in the marketplace.

In addition to our Weekly Vendors the Rotation Vendors listed below will also be in this Saturday. (Vendors making their last visit before Thanksgiving are marked by an asteRISK - so stock up!)

  • Alpacatrax*
  • Demi Olive Oil*
  • Forward Roots*
  • Head and Heal* (last visit until spring)
  • Kriemhild Dairy Farms*
  • Living Edge Designs
  • Manor Sangria*
  • Red Barn Bakery
  • Sharper Harper
  • Strudel House
  • Tree Juice Maple Syrup*
  • Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery*

Stock up! Most our vendors remain with us year-round. Some producers that take winter off have items you can stock up on including Buddhapesto, Dobler Farms, Head and Heal, Little Seed Gardens, Melissa's Health Hub, Spirits Lab and Wright's Farm. All will be in over the next four weeks.

Bread Alone Bakery has been a popular vendor for many years, but their business is growing and changing. Unfortunately, after suffering inventory problems throughout 2021, they've made the decision to focus on other parts of their business. As such, they have decided to withdraw from Pleasantville Farmers Market after November 20th. We thank them for being part of our Market, and wish them well. Orwashers Bakery and Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse continue with us year-round (including all winter) with their baked goods. And we'll find a new bread baker for next spring to serve our shoppers' needs.

Phelps Health Tip:

Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following "Tired lately? Our prescription is garlic. If leafless trees and early sunsets are leaving you without energy, know that Hippocrates (the father of Western medicine himself) prescribed garlic to treat fatigue".

Out of cash at the Market? Use your debit or credit card (8:30am - 12:00pm) to receive Market Bucks at the Manager's Tent.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Pleasantville Farmers Market remains committed to the health and safety of the whole community, including shoppers, vendors, volunteers, and staff.

Mask wearing for unvaccinated shoppers (including children under 12) is required, and all shoppers are requested to maintain physical distancing in the marketplace.

Because many our food artisans sell delicious treats that can be consumed at the Market, physically distanced tables and chairs are provided on our grass area for families to enjoy their treats together, mask-free.

Avoid the Market if you're sick. Especially so if you exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus (temperature of 100° or above, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath). The New York State Department of Health has set up a hotline at (888) 364-3065 where Department of Health experts are available to answer questions regarding COVID-19.
