Wooly Weather

Alpacratrax is in with wooly, warm socks, as well as skeins of wool, & many other beautiful finished woolen items.

WOOLY WEATHER

Alpacatrax will join The River Garden in bringing farm-based crafts to the Market this Saturday. The River Garden has dried floral arrangements, and floral wreathes which are absolutely beautiful to decorate your home with. Alpacatrax has wool and finished wool items from their own alpaca herd, including thick wool socks which suit our latest weather pattern. The Pleasantville Farmers Market will be cool, but sunny, which works well for Living Edge Designs who are visiting with their terrific cutting boards. Speaking about cutting, get your edge back if your knives have grown dull --next week Harper Keehn Knife Sharpening will visit for one week only to sharpen knives. So if you’re carving turkey later this month, decorating for the holiday, or gathering gifts, remember to plan ahead because the Market has some nice options.

As reviewed last week, the Market’s farms will continue to provide a wonderful harvest as we move through November and December. Brussels sprouts, potatoes, apples, squash... so many great fall crops are in right now! So leading up to Thanksgiving, this Saturday and on November 22, you can gather ingredients for both satisfying weekly meals and for the holiday. Use the Market’s interactive map to review vendors in attendance this Saturday.

After Thanksgiving, remember that the Market is closed on November 29 to prepare for our transition to the warm and cozy Pleasantville Middle School. The Indoor Market opens on December 6th.

Need Gluten-Free Items For The Holiday?
Spoonful of Sugar will be in with Thanksgiving Order Forms this Saturday. Spoonful visits the Market this week, and next, so they can provide you with GF items such as dinner rolls, bread for stuffing, pumpkin pies and other items. They’ll have some samples this week, so stop by to learn more.

Plenty More Gift Ideas In The Market
The farm-based crafts our seasonal vendors have been bringing to market are great for holiday gifts. Many additional ideas can be found with our regular vendors as well. Spice Revolution has attractive containers of spices, Conant Valley Jams packages their preserves beautifully, and Bombay Emerald Chutney Company has creative chutneys which can add a new flavor to your gifting. Know someone special who is nuts about peanut butter? The Peanut Principle is in this week. Tierra Farm has special nut butters, and whole nuts to set out in those holiday bowls. Lastly, Whitecliff Vineyards will make their final visit of the season this Saturday. Stock up for the holidays with a case of their award-winning red and white wines, or select a bottle to give as a terrific, seasonally-sourced present.

Advanced notice: Harper Keehn Knife Sharpening will return for one Saturday only, on 11/22 (just before the Thanksgiving turkey is carved).

Can’t Get To The Market This Week?
Sometimes life gets in the way of a leisurely visit to the Market. If you can’t get to the Market Saturday, you can still enjoy much of the good food the Market has to offer by shopping the Pleasantville Farmers Market online through our affiliation with Fresh Nation. Fresh Nation is committed to providing access to the Market’s fresh regional foods, from Market to table - your table. Simply browse our participating farmers and food artisans, and place your order by noon on Friday. Fresh Nation shoppers will hand select your items from Market vendors, then deliver them to your home. Prices are the same as at the Market, plus a small delivery charge.
