
The Pleasantville Farmers Market is the largest, year-round farmers market in Westchester. Its producers have great foods, and you have meals to cook, twelve months out of the year. Arrive December 2 for the Indoor Market Opening Day. December through March you can keep shopping the Market for fresh seafood, crisp greens, hardy vegetables, well-stored fruits and root crops, cheeses and meats, and numerous other delicious foods. Note: this year the Indoor Market hours will remain the same as the outdoor season's: 8:30am to 1:00pm.

This Saturday:
While waiting for your knives to be sharpened by Harper Keehn, get ingredients for warming dishes such as roasted meats and root vegetables, creamy fall soups, apple pies and cobblers. Steam a pot full of apples to stock up on homemade apple sauce. Get energized with superfoods such as kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cauliflower. Shop wines, hard ciders or Apple Jack from Warwick Valley Winery (their final visit of the season) to enjoy by the fireplace, after your meal.

Making his final fall visit, Harper Keehn Knife Sharpening will arrive Saturday to sharpen knives.
Beautifully Crafted
The River Garden is outside two more weeks with beautiful, dried floral items - stop by and have a look at their unique wreaths, dried bouquets, harvest sheaves, and fresh eucalyptus. Saturday North Winds Lavender Farm will make their final visit of the season with a wonderful assortment of lavender themed gift items. Also, if you're looking for a gift item, Living Edge Designs will be in this Saturday and next, with their attractive cutting boards, bread peals and more.

Final Week For Thanksgiving Turkey Sign-Ups
Rock City Mushrooms takes reservations Saturday for their own offering of Thanksgiving turkeys, joining Campanelli's Poultry and Cowberry Crossing Farm, both of which still have their own sign up sheets going. Hilary Corsun of Rock City Mushrooms says, "Our turkeys range 10 - 20 lbs, are delivered frozen to the Market Saturday, November 18, and cost $7/lb with a $50 deposit due at time of order. We raise our birds outdoors on pasture and feed them a locally milled, Certified Organic grain. All birds are humanely processed on the farm." Interested? Catch Them While You Can
Some vendors conclude their season with us on 11/18. It would pay to stock up for the holidays with Drink More Good soda syrups, or Warwick Winery items, Wright's Farm preserves, or with items from North Winds Lavender. And of course have one more Aba's Falafel or stir fry from Break Bread Not Hearts.
Warwick Valley Winery & Black Dirt Distillery
Warwick Valley Winery visits Saturday highlighting their Apple Jack as an autumn tradition and celebration of our growing regional distillery movement. Before prohibition the Black Dirt region was home to dozens of Apple Jack distilleries -- Warwick Winery now carries on this tradition.
Cold Days, HOT Teagevity
Teagevity has numerous hot teas (and coffees) to warm up with Saturday, as well as a great selection of dry tea blends to take home.
Kiernan Farm: Ham Steak SALE
This week Kiernan Farm has a SALE on their their extra thick, nitrate free, smoked ham steaks at $9.75/lb (reg. $12.75). And their beef chuck tender steaks, and ground beef (when a bulk purchase), are discounted too.

The Future Nurses Club Fundraiser:

The Future Nurses Club at Westchester Community College visited last week to highlight their educational events and activities. This Saturday they have a fundraising event at Lucy's in Pleasantville. Gleaning Event Friday, November 24
Last year the Pleasantville Community Garden held a gleaning event at Hilltop Hanover Farm. 50 volunteers arrived and harvested 2000 lbs of vegetables which were donated to food pantries in our area. They are holding the event again this year. Here's a great opportunity to get your guests out and moving after your Thanksgiving feast!
