Where/When: on Sunday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy a concert by Westchester's Jazz Elite Big Band led by Iantheia Calhoun, featuring trombonist Wycliffe Gordon. The band is made up of middle and high schoolers from around Westchester County and Connecticut. The concert precedes the 86-minute 2011 documentary by Judy Chaikin, The Girls in the Band. The fi;m explores the lives of women in jazz in the 1930s and 40s. Buy tickets online here.

Why go: Join the Girl Scous of Briarcliff Manor and Pocantico for an annual tradition. The evening's events will include songs, games, crafts and plenty of s'mores for all. Bring your own marshmallow roasting stuck.

Where/When: Bedford Road/Memorial Plaza/Washington Avenue on Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m.

Why go: Cheer for Pleasantville's dedicated volunteers during the annual Fireman's Day Parade that snakes through the village's downtown Friday evening.

Where/When: Homes around Briarcliff Manor and Ossining on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 6 p.m.

Why go: Show your support for the  by joining your neighbors for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at the home of Rebecca and Arthur Samberg (134 Hawkes Ave. Ossining) at 6 p.m. A silent auction begins at 7 p.m. before 10 local homes will serve dinner. Click here for more information and to RSVP.

Where/When: on Thursday, May 31 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Why go: Local seniors are invited to an afternoon of Yiddish poetry, short stories, conversation, humor, songs and more. Yiddish fluency is not a requirement.
