Why go: Enjoy dinner with Under One Roof members, a group of local Muslims and Jews who provide assistant to local charities. This dinner's funds will benefit Birthday Angels, an organization that provides birthday parties for orphans in Israel. The dinner's proceeds will also benefit the work of Dr. Hawa Abdi, who created a refugee camp in Somalia. Reservations required by emailing michaelhgold@aol.com.

Films from Purchase College

Why go: Check out six shorts from filmmakers in Purchase College's School of Film and Media Studies. Among the shorts are a thriller, documentary, animated story and more. A Q&A with the filmmakers and Associate Professor of Film Robert Siegal will follow.
