Why go: The DIY pottery store is having a special Valentine's Day event, which will include a ceramic mug, instructions, paint, firing, treats and a reading of "Where is Love?" Each participant will receive a wrapped book and gift. Extra gifts will also be available for an additional $12 each.

Why go: Join Louis Russo for an afternoon of Chinese history, stories, traditions and art. The program will cover topics including dynasties, musical instruments and classic stories. There will be time for questions at the end.

Hudson River Eaglefest
Where/When: on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why go: Activities, guided eagle viewing, storytelling, children's programs, bird walks and displays are all part of the annual recognition of the Hudson's eagles. Call 762-2912 ext. 110 for more information or to make reservations.
