PORT CHESTER, NY — A car driving around Port Chester firing projectiles at people on the streets wreaked havoc in a neighborhood near the high school on Friday, according to police.

Last night, the Port Chester Police Department answered complaints of a vehicle's occupants driving around the area of Port Chester High School shooting a BB gun-type weapon at pedestrians. Two residents and a dog were shot, with one resident suffering minor injuries, cops said.

Responding officers were able to find the suspect vehicle which was unoccupied. Investigators believe that, in this case, air-soft guns, which shoot a hard plastic projectile, were used to harass the community.

Police soon located the occupants of the vehicle and an 18-year-old Norwalk, Connecticut man was charged with misdemeanor prohibited use of a weapon in the 2nd degree. The teenager, whose name has not yet been released by police, was issued an appearance ticket and released with a future court date.

"The PCPD will not tolerate this type of behavior and hopefully this sends a clear message that this behavior is unacceptable," officials said in a statement on social media Saturday, announcing the arrest.
