2017-18 School Calendar For Port Chester

The new school year begins soon in Port Chester. Here are dates you need to know.

PORT CHESTER, NY — You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-17 year in Port Chester.

  • Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 4
  • First day of school: Sept. 6
  • Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
  • Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 9
  • Noon dismissal for students only: Oct. 18
  • Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day (no school for students): Nov. 7
  • Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
  • Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 23-24
  • Noon dismissal for students only: Dec. 6
  • Holiday recess: Dec. 25-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 2)
  • Noon dismissal for students only: Jan. 10
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
  • Noon dismissal for students only: Feb. 7
  • Presidents Day/winter recess: Feb. 19-23
  • Superintendent's Conference Day (no school for students): March 20
  • Spring recess: March 30-April 6
  • Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 28
  • Noon dismissal for elementary students only: June 22
  • High school graduation: June 22
  • Last day of school: June 22
