The Carver Center on Westchester Avenue here in Port Chester looks forward every October when volunteers from Children's Hope Chest arrive at the facility to do a big 200-coat drive and also spend quality creative Halloween time with the Carver Center youth. In addition to receiving a warm winter coat, the day becomes fun where the kids dress in their best Halloween costume and take part in fun arts and crafts for the season.

Ready to have a great Halloween, as Children's Hope Chest volunteers spend time at the Carver Center.

This year's event which took place on Saturday, October 24, was very successful where there were nearly 30 Children's Hope Chest volunteers, all dressed in yellow, and they all spent quality time at the Carver Center teaching the kids about Halloween costume fun.

“We are so grateful for our long-standing partnership with the Children’s Hope Chest community, who show up for our kids at the Carver Center,” said Colleen Kane, Chief Advancement Officer at the Carver Center. “Their donation of 200 coats will help children stay warm all winter long, and having their volunteers spend time doing arts and crafts with our youth made the day even more special. It’s a reminder that our kids are surrounded by a community that cares about them.”
