Annual Port Chester 5K Fun Run/Walk Oct. 10

The Port Chester Recreation Department will host it’s 17th Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 10, officials announced.

The 5k begins at 9:30 a.m., and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers (7 different age categories) and top 3 overall male and female.

The event’s starting and finishing lines will be at Lyon Park on Putnam Avenue.

Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children (16 years old or younger), for those who pre-register before Oct 6. On the day of the race, registration is $20 for adults and $15 for children (16 years old or younger).

New this year will be a 1-mile dog walk, with the first 100 dogs receiving a free bandana.

Proceeds go to support the Port Chester/Rye Brook Association of Retarded Citizens. Prizes for the most money raised are awarded to the top four fund raisers. Flyers are available on the Village web site, www.portchesterny.com, under the Recreation Department.
