BBBS of Westchester celebrates Cornell Cares Day 2017

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester

During the snowstorm on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, Family Services of Westchester and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester "Littles" were treated to a fun-filled day of winter arts & crafts with Cornell University "Bigs" for the day at the at the Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak Environmental Education Center in Yonkers. At Cornell Cares Day 2017, eight children and their Cornell alumni mentors participated in snow-themed activities, including snowflake and bird feeder making. They even learned how to purify water and make nature scenes using the newly-fallen snow. Yonkers City Hall was lit up in purple, BBBS’s signature color, for the evening to commemorate this special event.
