Construction Starts To Make Port Chester Train Station Handicap Accessible

The changes are partially due to a lawsuit that was filed.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A $6.1 million project has started at the Port Chester Metro-North station that will make the facility permanently handicap accessible.

Construction of a new elevator and ramp was partly due to a December 2014 federal lawsuit, the Journal News said.

The elevator will be located underneath the rail bridge on Westchester Avenue.
