PORT CHESTER, NY —A passenger had to be cut from a car by firefighters after a two-car collision.

At the height of rush hour traffic earlier this week, Engine 61 spotted and reported the two-car crash in which one of the vehicles rolled over. Fortunately for those involved, the serious wreck happened just in front of the Grace Church Street Firehouse at Midland Avenue.

One person was trapped inside their vehicle, according to fire officials. The Port Chester Fire Department requested Purchase Rescue to the scene. Purchase Rescue arrived shortly after and started putting their tools to work cutting the accident victim from the car. It took less that 15 minutes to safely remove the victim from the car. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospitals for emergency medical treatment.
