Eye In The Sky Nabs Suspects After Police End Pursuit: WCPD
It seems even if police call off a car chase in the interests of public safety, it may be possible to run, but not to hide.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Westchester County police have again proven that chasing down a suspect doesn't always require a high-speed pursuit.
Two times in the last two days, drivers tried to flee from Westchester County police. The chases took dramatically different courses, but the end results were the same — suspects in handcuffs.
On Monday, the Real Time Crime Center, patrol officers and the WCP Aviation Unit worked together with the NYPD, leading to the arrests of three suspects who tried to flee from county police in a stolen car.

Just after 2 p.m., the Real Time Crime Center broadcast an alert that a stolen Toyota Rav4 was spotted on Boston Post Road in Port Chester. A patrol officer saw the SUV entering southbound Interstate 95 and followed it. The driver would not pull over and began weaving in and out of traffic and driving recklessly, according to police officials.
The Westchester County Police Aviation Unit took over following the vehicle, tracking it along I-95 and across the New York City line. The "eye in the sky" then reported the vehicle’s location on Eastchester Road in the Bronx to the NYPD who took the occupants of the car into custody.

The driver was charged with fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. One passenger was charged with criminal possession of stolen property. A juvenile in the car was also taken into custody.
In the second case, on Tuesday morning, another Real Time Crime Center alert led officers to a stolen car on the Hutchinson River Parkway. This driver also refused to pull over, according to police. The suspect eventually made his way from the Hutch to the Cross County Parkway.
Before the aviation unit could take over the pursuit, the vehicle exited at Yonkers Avenue and rolled over on the ramp. The crash resulted in minor injuries and three suspects were arrested.
