Got Bread? August 9, 10:30am
Sunday morning worship service, First Baptist Church White Plains.

Rev. Tim Dalton will reflect on Psalm 34:1-8 and John 6:35, 41-51.
BREAD HAS BEEN ESSENTIAL to the growth of tribal communities and nomadic herders of distant history, all the way to today with our sliced, whole wheat, multi-grain, gluten free options. Bread held the promise of a better tomorrow by providing the impoverished masses inexpensive nourishment for themselves and their families. So, what does it mean when Jesus says, “I am the bread of Life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry.” Similar to Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, he says that if she drank of the “living water” that he provides, she would never be thirsty again. Jesus is letting us know that he, God, gives us what we need to live lives of meaning through loving God and others. It is in the serving of others that we discover that we have received so much. Come and celebrate the Lord’s Supper with us this Sunday, as we ask: Got bread?
