A Mystery of the Kingdom, June 14, 10:30am

In order to describe the emergence of God’s kingdom in the world, Jesus often used parables. Why? As the Greek root (para ballo) suggests, parables are stories thrown alongside our lives giving us insights we didn’t have previously. In his using short, provocative stories, Jesus recognizes the importance of imagination--a way to shift how we normally see ourselves, others, and even God. They are small shifts, but like the mustard seed, they pay huge dividends. Come and let us imagine together the mysterious grandeur of God’s Kingdom.
