Police Identify Victims in Friday's Fatal Crash near Port Chester High School

One teen is dead, another badly injured, and the community mourns.

Joseph Touri, 18, of Rye Brook, crashed into a tree near Port Chester High School Friday afternoon. He died at the scene due to massive trauma, according to news reports.

The passenger in his car, Diana Pineda, 16, was thrown halfway through the rear window and suffered severe injuries. The Port Chester resident was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

A second car may have been involved in a drag race; police are still investigating.

A GoFundMe site has raised more than $10,000 in a memorial fund since the crash. On it, the family left this message:

The Touri family has lost a son, brother and friend. Joey has touched the lives of so many people and we appreciate all the love and support we’ve received during this difficult time. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are much appreciated by the entire family.

A memorial has sprung up around the tree into which Touri crashed at high speed, and the high school will be offering grief counseling to shaken students and staff, News 12 reported.
