Minutes after Detroit sent them home for the season, Yankee stars C.C. Sabathia and Jorge Posada fielded media questions about their futures with the team.

After thundering back with a 10-1 route Tuesday, the Yankees were shocked Thursday night when the Detroit Tigers sealed a 3-2 win, eliminating the Yankees and dashing any hopes of October magic in the Bronx this year.
Before the shock of the loss had time to settle in, two of the most prominent Yankee stars were already facing media questions about their futures.
For the majority of Yankee players, it was the last game of the season. For ace C.C. Sabathia and long-time Yankee Jorge Posada, it may have been their last game in pinstripes.

After brushing off a series of questions from reporters, Posada broke into tears after the game, emotional with the prospect of not returning to the only team he's played for as a professional.
Sabathia has the option to opt out and seek a new home next year, a possibility that hasn't been dismissed by sports media. And Posada, who endured severe struggles at the plate before finding his timing later in the season, may be at the end of a long and storied career.
