Port Chester HS Junior to Attend Trump Inauguration, Leadership Summit
During the summit, attendees will hear from national figures.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Port Chester High School junior Jordan Lewis will be traveling to Washington, DC this January and will attend the inauguration of President-elect Trump as part of the 2017 Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit from Jan. 18-22.
Lewis was selected to attend the summit on the recommendation of a professor after attending a journalism course at Manhattan College this past summer, according to a district spokeswoman.
The Leadership Summit attendees will spend several days hearing from well-known leaders including Gen. Colin Powell, Spike Lee, Gov. Martin O’Malley and several business and political celebrities.

Each group of Leadership Summit participants will address one topic of their choice and six outstanding delegations will be recognized as winners and receive grants to support their future. After the Leadership Summit, all of the solutions will be compiled in a statement paper which will be published and sent to the new president and Congress on behalf of Next Generation Leaders.
At Port Chester High School, Lewis is a top student-athlete, the spokeswoman said. He has an 86 grade point average and intends to major in journalism in college.

Lewis is the captain of the track team, winning team MVP this past spring, and was selected to participate in a US vs. Australia track and field meet to be held in Australia next summer. In addition, Lewis is a starter on the PCHS varsity football team and has dreams of playing in the NFL.
The Leadership Summit is sponsored by Envision, an organization that gives high-aspiring students the unique opportunity to turn their career aspirations into reality. The organization sponsors programs around the country to help students of all ages explore future careers, prepare for college and hone their leadership skills.
Lewis' participation in the Envision Program at Manhattanville this summer was funded by Wishbone, an organization that crowd-funds students who have a passion and who need financial assistance in order to participate in a program of their choice.
