Port Chester Man Faces DUI Charge After Crash

Police stopped the motorist after seeing extensive damage to the car.

A Port Chester man is facing a driving under the influence charge after Greenwich Police saw him driving a car with extensive front end damage on East Putnam Avenue near Hillside Road in central Greenwich shortly after midnight Saturday.

Police determined that the driver left the scene of a crash that occurred on southbound I-95 and was “observed to be under the influence of a(n) alcoholic beverage,” according to a police report.

The driver was identified as Jonathan Maldonado, 24, of 337 Locust Ave., Port Chester. Maldonado was released after posting $250 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
