Port Chester Man Involved in Four-Car Crash that Closed Route 7 in Conn. Wednesday

The crash occurred at around 6:45 a.m., injuring three people.

A four-car motor vehicle accident occurred early Wednesday morning at the intersection of Danbury Road and Hollyhock Lane in Wilton closing Route 7.

According to police, a Port Chester man travelling northbound on Danbury Road at the intersection of Hollyhock Lane crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming southbound traffic. The vehicle struck a car operated by a Redding man travelling southbound at the intersection.

The car operated by the Redding man ended up sideways in the right lane of northbound traffic once it was struck due to slippery conditions, police said.

A third vehicle travelling northbound operated by a Norwalk woman struck the vehicle on the rear bumper. Following this, a fourth vehicle operated by a Stamford woman struck the rear of the third vehicle.

All operators except for the Norwalk woman were injured and taken to the hospital. Their identities have not yet been revealed.

The accident is currently under investigation.
