Port Chester Man Victim of Fatal Greenwich Pedestrian Crash: PD

The victim was struck Monday evening on West Putnam Avenue.

GREENWICH, CT — Police continue to investigate a crash that claimed the life of a Port Chester man who was in his 80's.

The man was crossing West Putnam Avenue at the intersection of Western Junior Highway around 6:30 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a vehicle, said Sgt. John Slusarz.

He was taken to Greenwich Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

"The driver of the car immediately stopped and rendered aid to the pedestrian along with a witness to the incident," Slusarz said.

The pedestrian's name is being withheld pending notification of the family.
