Port Chester Students 'Read Aloud' Wednesday

The annual literacy event leads to discussions of books with members of the community.

Port Chester’s Edison Elementary School students celebrated “World Read Aloud Day” Wednesday.

Guest readers from the Port Chester community were in each classroom to read to the students and have discussions.

Spearheading the literacy event were special education teacher Marcia Manzueta and fourth-grade teacher Amy Simmons.

Read Aloud Day coincided with the National Education Association’s Read Across America Project which occurs on or around the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
