Rye Brook, Port Chester Agree to Suspend Litigation, Go Through Mediation
The dispute over professional firefighters goes back to May.

PORT CHESTER, NY — The municipal feud between Port Chester and Rye Brook over shared fire services is going to a mediator.
The two villages will suspend litigation and form committees for mediation to try to avoid a legal fight, according to an article at the Journal News.
Part of the agreement with Rye Brook said that Port Chester must supply a professional firefighter at the Rye Brook firehouse from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. That ended once the Port Chester village board eliminated paid positions to save money May 2.
