Rye Paddleboarders Rescued by Port Chester Police Boat on Maiden Voyage
Two teens were found struggling in the current on the Sound south of Manursing Island.

Port Chester police out on Long Island Sound in the village’s brand-new police boat rescued two Rye teenagers who were struggling against the current, according to the Daily Voice.
Officer Jeff Garcia pulled a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy out of the water around 2:30 p.m. July 22, the Daily Voice reported.
The pair earned praise from Port Chester Police Chief Richard Conway for not panicking. He warned paddle-boarders about the dangers of the current.
