Veterans Day Ceremony at the African American Cemetery in Rye, Saturday, Nov 12 at 10 AM

The public is invited to participate in the Veterans Day ceremony at the African American Cemetery adjacent to Greenwood Union Cemetery, located at 215 North Street in Rye, on Saturday, November 12 at 10 AM.

Members of the local VFW who place the flags at the sites of veterans buried there will visit the cemetery today to ensure that vandals have not struck again. Prior to the Memorial Day ceremony earlier this year, it was discovered that vandals had remove the flags from the poles but the poles in place. No one was found responsible for that heinous act.
