Founder and Immediate Past President of Vigiano Brothers Lodge to Be Honored at Testimonial Dinner Dance

On Sunday, October 23, 2011, there will be a testimonial dinner dance held at the Watermill Inn in Smithown in honor of Elayne Morga, Founder and Immediate Past President of the Vigiano Brothers Lodge #3436, Order Sons of Italy in America. The dinner dance will start at 1:30 pm and the proceeds raised from the event and souvenir journal will go to benefit the lodge’s scholarship fund.
Elayne, who lives in South Setauket, was responsible for naming the lodge after John T. Vigiano II, FDNY and Joseph Vigiano, NYPD and was the first Vice President of the lodge when it was chartered in May 2008. Elayne served as President of the lodge from March 2009 until March 2011. During her term of office, she earned recognition from the NYS Grand Lodge for several accomplishments including 2 personal membership sponsorship awards, and an award for the “Most Promising Newsletter” in 2009, for the lodge newsletter designed and written by Ms. Morga. Additionally, in 2009 the lodge was recognized as having the “Highest Percentage Increase in Members” in large part to Elayne’s personal recruiting efforts as well as in her capacity as membership chair for the lodge. At the NYS Grand Lodge Convention in 2010, the lodge won recognition as the winner of the Grand Lodge website competition.
