Nicole J. Christian Has Been Hired as a Consultant of Grant Writing for the Village of Port Jefferson

Port Jefferson Mayor, Margot Garant, appointed Nicole J. Christian as a consultant of Grant Writing for the Incorporated Village of Port Jefferson, NY.
As the CEO of NJC Consulting, Christian brings over 10 years of substantial experience to the business community. She has conducted workshops and seminars throughout the NYC Metro area and Long Island and maintained a flourishing consulting firm headquartered in Long Island. Her specialties are fundraising, business plan development, grant writing and economic/community development projects coordination.
“My goal is to identify town, county, state and federal grant opportunities and to encourage layering of intergovernmental funding sources to support the goals set out in the comprehensive master plan,” says Christian.

Nicole is a native New Yorker who in 2006, was appointed as Town of Brookhaven Deputy Commissioner of Housing, Community Development and Intergovernmental Affairs after which she served as Assistant to the Director of the Suffolk County Affordable and Workforce Housing Program. Prior to that, Christian held posts with the Town Of Brookhaven Economic Development Division; the U.S. Small Business Administration; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management.
Nicole has earned a Master of Public Administration degree and graduate certificate in non-profit management from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate from Marymount University. Nicole is currently an instructor at Dowling College in the Townsend School of Business as well as an instructor at the Dowling Institute.
