Baby Delivered With Help From Suffolk Police Officers

The baby boy arrived at 2:59 a.m. Tuesday. Congratulations!

TERRYVILLE, NY — A baby boy was delivered in Terryville Tuesday morning with help from Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct officers.

At 2:45 a.m., officers Fred Crasa, Brian Cann, and Jon-Erik Negron responded to a 911 call from Jewel Johnson, who said her granddaughter was giving birth at Johnson's home. The officers, along with paramedic Kevin Bader, assisted the 38-week-pregnant mother, who gave birth to a baby boy at 2:59 a.m.

Melissa Conaway, 26, and her newborn were brought to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson in good condition.
