Theater Group at Port Jeff High School Recognized with Four STARS Awards

I, for the past several years have been fortunate to be the “Official STARS Awards Photographer” and have always enjoyed the opportunity to see so many talented teens from our area.

This year, at the awards ceremony on June 5, three Port Jefferson students were recognized for their efforts. Hayley Moir was recognized for her performance in “Witness for the Prosecution” with the award for “Leading Actress in a Drama.” Dominick Famularo was recognized for his performance in “Witness for the Prosecution” with the award for “Leading Actor in a Drama.” Sean Swords was recognized for his work with a STARS Award for “Stage Management’ in “Witness for the Prosecution.”

Port Jefferson was also recognized with a STARS Award for “Innovation in Theatre Education.” Quoting from the program, “This award was created to recognize schools that go beyond the regular theatre program of classes and yearly plays by supporting an activity that nurtures theatre arts in education.
