Man, 64, Struck By Car, Seriously Injured In Port Jefferson Station
He was taken from the Route 112 to John T. Mather Hospital, Suffolk cops say.
PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A 64-year-old Port Jefferson Station man was struck by a car and seriously injured while he was walking on Route 112 — in one of two crashes within about one minute of each other on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.
At about 8:40 p.m., Mitchell Leventhal was walking in the roadway, just north of Jefferson Avenue in Port Jefferson Station, when he was struck by a 2004 Lexus ES 330 that was traveling northbound, according to police.
Leventhal was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, said police, adding that the driver of the Lexus, Marcin Orzelowski, a 25-year-old Port Jefferson Station resident, was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson for treatment of minor injuries.

The Lexus was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
A car driven by a Shirley man collided with a Ford Transit Van at the intersection of Express Driveway North and Horseblock Road in Medford at about 8:38 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital.
