Man Injured In Dirt Bike Crash Behind Long Island High School

The injured rider needed to be transported out of the woods via an off road vehicle. See video from the scene.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY – A 51-year-old man was injured in a dirt bike crash behind a Long Island high school Monday night, police said.

It happened around 7:10 p.m. in a wooded area off North Bicycle Path behind Comsewogue High School.

According to Suffolk Police, the man's dirt bike struck a tree. EMTs and firefighters had to bring the injured man out of the woods via an off-road vehicle.

He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police did not release his name.
