The project, backed by state and federal funding, prioritizes veterans and residents with developmental, mobility, and sensory disabilities, and is central to the village's broader downtown and "Upper Port" revitalization plans.

Center Moriches Adds Dobbs Ferry After Football Cancellation (southshorepress.com) — Port Jefferson's inability to field a football team for 2026 has forced the cancellation of its season, giving opponents automatic forfeit wins. Center Moriches, originally slated to open against Port Jefferson on Sept. 4, has instead scheduled a home game with Dobbs Ferry that same day, keeping its opening weekend active while still receiving the forfeit points.
