Three People Shot During Vigil on Long Island
BREAKING: A crowd had gathered for a vigil in memory of a car crash victim when shots rang out Monday night, police say.

CORAM, NY – Three people were shot during a vigil for a car crash victim on Long Island Monday night, police said.
The vigil was being held in front of 22 Judith Drive in Coram when gunshots rang out around 9:40 p.m, according to Suffolk Police. A local resident heard the gunfire and called police.
Upon arrival, officers determined that three men had been shot. A 25-year-old Coram man was transported by a private vehicle to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Two other victims, a 19-year-old Coram man, the brother of the 25-year-old victim, and a 26-year old Amityville man, were transported by Coram Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The victims, whom police did not name, are not pursing charges, police said.

"We are not saying if police do or do not know suspect(s)," a Suffolk Police spokeswoman told Patch. "The victims don’t want to go further with the case. They are not looking to have anyone prosecuted."
Police are still asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
Police did not specify whom the vigil was for, but two Coram teens were killed and another injured in a crash last Friday in Middle Island.
