PORT WASHINGTON, NY–As one of the larger communities on Long Island, there's always something going on in Port Washington. Check out these three local Facebook pages you should like or groups you should request access to.

  • Positively Port: A Place to Share Information About Port Washington, NY: The name of the group is pretty self-explanatory. It's one of the premiere Port Washington Facebook groups where residents go to discuss all things related to their hamlet. For anyone who seeks an answer to a question about the area or a recommendation of where to shop or eat, Port Washington residents will be happy to help.
  • Port Washington Virtual Yard Sale: A public group that could be very useful, as it's essentially an Ebay for Port Washington residents. People post things that they're looking to sell, such as a bedroom set, handbag or sewing machine, with a price attached. If you're interested, you can then message the seller.
  • Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District: A not for profit organization of property owners and tenants located in Port Washington's designated business area. Its goal is to improve the district's businesses through marketing, promotion, physical improvements and enhanced services. The Facebook page is frequently updated with announcements of new business openings, actions that the PW BID has taken and other community news.
