64TH ANNUAL ISRAEL FOLK DANCE FESTIVAL AND FAIR
Sunday, March 29, 2015 in New York City Fair 11:00-3:00 and Folk Dance Festival Performance 3:30 PM
GESHARIM BAMACHOL – BRIDGES OF DANCE, will be the theme of the 64th Annual Israel Folk Dance Festival and Festival of the Arts, to be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Educational Campus, Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street, across from Lincoln Center in New York City with the Festival Fair from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm followed by the Festival performance at 3:30 pm.
The Festival day begins at 11:00 am with Rivkaleh’s Fair, a once a year indoor event with something to delight every member of the family. There will be community dancing and singing, and interactive and engaging activities for all ages. The Fair also features Judaica and crafts vendors with Israeli products, activities for children and Israeli food. Admission to the fair is free!
The Israel Folk Dance Festival performance follows the Fair at 3:30 p.m. The performers will span eras, styles, and cultures to bring together a diverse selection of dance, music, and art. Over 250 Festival Performers will represent youth, university and regional dance troupes from communities across the United States. With colorful costumes and abundant spirit, they share their visions of Israel and Jewish life in a multi-media spectacle.

Performances will also bridge the worlds of ballet, modern and percussive dance. Special guest company Ariel Rivka Dance will present a fresh perspective on the women of the Purim story, Vashti and Esther. Returning company Ya’el Tap will again delight with a performance filled with rhythm and emotion.
Port Washington Resident and Israel Dance Institute Board Member, Stacey Jawitz remarked “This is such a wonderful performance filled with energy, color and incredible talent. The festival of the arts before the performance is such fun for families!”
