Manhasset Resident Gary Panariello Promoted to Managing Principal in NYC Office of Thornton Tomasetti

Gary F. Panariello, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., a resident of Manhasset, N.Y., has been promoted to managing principal in the New York City office of Thornton Tomasetti, the international engineering firm.

Dr. Panariello is a member of the Thornton Tomasetti Board of Directors and head of its Building Performance practice. A recognized leader in forensic engineering, he has more than 20 years of experience in the research, design, investigation and construction of complex structures. His specialties include the dynamics of structures subjected to earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural and man-made events, structural failure investigations, advanced analysis and emergency response.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer in 12 states and a licensed Structural Engineer in California and Idaho. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., and master of science, master of philosophy and doctoral degrees in civil engineering and engineering mechanics from Columbia University in New York.
His professional memberships include Structural Engineering Association of New York, American Institute of Steel Construction and American Society of Civil Engineers.
