Bomb Threat Made to All Nassau Schools 'Seems Unrealistic,' Police Say

Someone heard a man say he was going to "put bombs in every school in Nassau and set them to go off" Monday, police say.

Nassau County Police are intensifying patrols for all schools in the area after they were notified of an "unconfirmed and unrealistic" bomb threat that was made to all Nassau County schools for Monday.

According to authorities, someone told police he heard an unidentified male say Sunday night he will "put bombs in every school in Nassau and set them to go off tomorrow."

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano said patrols will also be intensified at public gatherings and near critical infrastructure. Social media outlets will be monitored as well.
