Brave The Cold: Polar Plunge Is Back In Port Washington
Take the plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Take the plunge for a cause – the annual Polar Plunge is returning to Port Washington this Saturday, March 7, with brave participants jumping into chilly waters to support the Special Olympics of New York.
Funds raised during the event help provide year-round sports training and competitions, as well as leadership, health and inclusion programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Registration will run from 9 to 10 a.m., and the plunge will be at 10:15 a.m. The event will take place at North Hempstead Beach Park at 175 W. Shore Rd. in Port Washington.

The event was originally scheduled for Feb. 7, but was postponed after the harbor froze.
