The Port Washington community is looking to raise funds for a local mother of two who recently lost her husband to cancer.

Marcellina supported her household with her income from the library during the entire time her husband was ill, no matter how straining.

Now, the community is giving back to her. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Marcellina to ease her financial burden due to the sky-high medical bills.

From the GoFundMe page: “Marcellina would love nothing more than to continue to live in this amazing community that has consistently supported her throughout her difficult ordeal, especially now when she needs them the most.”

The donation page has already accumulated nearly $1,000 of the $25,000 goal in less than one day.
