Cops: Beware of Continuing Phone Scams

Port Washington Police say scammers are still targeting residents.

Phone scammers continue to target residents, especially senior citizens, Port Washington Police Chief James Salerno warned.

Scammers are calling residents, falsely claiming to represent:

  • Utility Companies – PSE&G
  • Prize Winners
  • Kidnapped or arrested family members
  • Mortgage Loan Modifications

These phone calls are illegal, police say.
