Cops: Man Drove Drunk with 8 Year Old Daughter
Arrest was made early Sunday morning in North Hills, police said.

A Jersey City man was arrested for driving while intoxicated with his daughter, age 8, in the car early Sunday morning in North Hills, authorities said.
Police say Carlos F. Araujo-Gomez, 44, of was travelling west in a 2010 Mercedes SUV on the Long Island Expressway when police observed him swerving and unable to stay in his lane.
When police pulled him over at Exit 33 in North Hills at 5:45 a.m., they found that among his passengers was his 8 year old daughter, sitting in the center rear seat in a proper child restraint seat. The child was released to a family member at the scene, police said.

Araujo-Gomez is charged with driving while intoxicated with a child under 15, also known as Leandra’s Law, driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child and two traffic violations.
He is scheduled for arraignment on Monday in First District in Hempstead.
