Daisies Donate Girl Scout Cookie Money to Help Puppies and Kittens
These Port Washington kindergarteners presented a check to the North Shore Animal League on Monday.
Fifteen kindergarten girls in Daisy Troop No. 433 took their Girl Scout cookie money and decided to donate to their furry friends in need.
The girls, who are students at Sousa Elementary School, received a rebate check for selling 600 Girl Scout cookies and troop leader Andrea Moleski thought it would be a good idea to teach the girls financial stability.
She had the girls spend, save and donate a portion of their cookie money.

Troop 433 presented a $100 check to the organization on Monday and took a tour of the facility.
A volunteer named Pat walked the girls around the shelter and the girls were able to interact with the kittens and puppies who are up for adoption.
“This was a great opportunity for the girls to learn about the process of financial giving and the joy that comes with helping others...including the four-legged, furry kind,” Moleski said.
The girls also had the chance to spend a portion of their cookie money. They bought custom hair bows from Tina Designs and wore them while marching in the Memorial Day Parade.
