LIE Crash Blocks Lanes Shortly After Disabled Truck Cleared

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — Shortly after a tractor-trailer broke down on the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Roslyn Heights, a crash on the opposite side blocked two westbound lanes.

The semi-trailer broke down around 10:10 a.m. Tuesday between Exit 39 for Glen Cove Road and Exit 40W for state Route 906A, according to the state Department of Transportation. The scene was cleared within about an hour, traffic cameras showed traffic slowed.

Around 11:05 a.m., a crash the westbound lanes closed the right and center lanes near Exit 37 for Willis Avenue, the state Department of Transportation said. As of 11:25 a.m., the center lane was reopened.
