Driver Critically Hurt After Car Overturns, Strikes Tree on LIE Service Road
The crash occurred Monday shortly before noon.
A 33-year-old man is in critical condition after police say his vehicle overturned and struck a tree in Roslyn Heights on Monday.
According to authorities, the man was driving a 2003 Chevrolet eastbound on the Long Island Expressway Service Road, near Browers Lane, when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb, causing the vehicle to overturn and strike a tree at 11:54 a.m.
The driver, who was pinned inside the vehicle, was freed by Nassau County Police and emergency responders.

He was transported to a local hospital to be treated for severe chest and back injuries. The man is listed in critical condition.
The Chevrolet was impounded for a brake and safety check.
