Cops ID Elderly Man Fatally Struck by SUV in Roslyn Heights
The crash occurred Saturday night, police say.
UPDATED Tuesday at 3:10 p.m.: The pedestrian killed Saturday has been identified as Sion Bakhshi, 82 of Roslyn.

An elderly man was struck and killed by an SUV while attempting to cross the street in Roslyn Heights on Saturday night, police say.

According to authorities, Sion Bakhshi, 82 of Roslyn, was crossing Mineola Avenue, near Hillside Avenue, when he was struck by a GMC Acadia that was traveling northbound at 7:22 p.m.
The man was transported to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where he was pronounced dead at 7:57 p.m. His name is being withheld pending family notification.

No injuries were reported and police do not suspect criminality.
